You play with a set of playing cards and 5 ability cards. Each turn, you are dealt up to four cards, which can be treasure, monsters, weapons, potions, shields or ability cards. Your hero has a set amount of hit points, and the object is to have all the cards dealt out of the deck, and still be alive.There are 35 ability cards, and you start with a handful at the beginning of the game. The rest are unlocked as you win the game and use in game currency to unlock them. The better the card, the more expensive it is.As you progress, you also unlock additional features to the game, as in choosing your ability cards beforehand (normally they are taken from your collection randomly); unlocking additional hero cards; and creating and playing other players' decks. I've played a handful of them. They're all over the place, from challenging to WTF were you thinking?!It's well worth the cost, either on sale or no. For a relaxing, casual card game, it's aces in my book.. With the five hours that I have spent with the game, I believe that Card Crawl is a game that is definitely worth the price if you are into rogue-like deck games. I personally feel that this game has a unique aspect to it, as you dont really make your own deck. You can choose abilities to help you in the game, but it depends on what the game gives you; and what you do with the cards given. This game is unique to me, and I would highly recommend getting the game for its price. I strongly believe that, at least, you can sink in a good few hours of enjoyment.. Well, my first sitting was 4 hours long. Does that tell you anything. Very enjpyable and well worth the $3.Still havent figured out how to creat the 20 coin card, To unlock the Archer, thought for sure it was the Midas Scarf, but to no avail. Unlocks are a bit slow to see everything it has to offer.. Awesome single player card game, if you like card games you surely won't regret your 3€ spent.. This does not work on a Mac system, great game thou.. The game is fun but needs more updates. This really sucks, because I like the artstyle and the gameplay... but the game won't allow you to proceed. Normal level, I have one 'scored victory' and a half dozen victories where it froze on the 'win' animation without going to the score. I've tried intentionally losing, still cant get to the score. I've tried reinstalling it, clearling cache (it has a feature for that) and hitting space bar (which brings up some kind of developer kit error log).As much as I like the game, it just doesnt work. The fact that it includes multiple developer troubleshooting utilities is a bad sign. Reading on the discussion pages, it looks like developer is aware... which is a shame, since they released it in the current status anyways. I am seeking refund.
